Exploring the Benefits of Reiki

Reiki isn't a magic wand that fixes all your problems with one session. It gets the energy flowing freely in your body by unblocking any stagnant areas in your meridians and/or chakras. Reiki (universal life force energy) goes where it is needed in the body. You could come in with a pain in your knee hoping for some relief, but Reiki will go to where it is needed which may be something you aren't even aware of. Our bodies store trauma and emotion, while we may think we have processed that trauma or emotion, it can stay in the body and if not released could cause dis-ease.


During Reiki training we were instructed to give ourselves Reiki every morning for 21 days. I was already waking up early to do my own little energy routine, so I just added on self-Reiki. After the 21 days, we were told to stop for a few days and notice how we felt. Well, the day I didn't do it, I had a full-on meltdown over life. I only went one day without doing it because I could already feel and see the benefits I was receiving. The only other day I didn't do it, I had another meltdown! Needless to say, I give myself reiki every morning.


I noticed that reiki has helped regulate my emotions and triggers. I am calmer, I react differently in stressful situations, and the week before my period...I don't get the usual moodiness or cramps. It helps me tune into my body.
